Up until now the only way to try and avoid being overrun by kids was to pay a premium and stay at one of the top five star hotels but this in itself was never a guarantee of a child free holiday. 	Situated in the south of the Valencia region, the Costa Blanca ("White Coast") is about 85 miles long. At its centre lies Alicante and its airport. The Costa Blanca has large beaches, backed by mountains and the area includes numerous small resorts as well as the large and popular Benidorm with its attractive twin bays, hundreds of bars and all-night clubs catering mainly for British tourists. Benidorm (often referred to as Blackpool with sunshine) has rows of shops selling beach buckets and flip-flops along its sea front and is a child’s dream with its 3 mile stretch of white sandy beach. Benidorm has a great nightlife but if you would prefer a quieter holiday then move a few miles along the coast to resorts like Playa de Levante which is more “up-market”.
